H.A.N.D.S. in easy words
This page is written in easy words. It is for everyone. Words in bold are explained at the end.
Who we are
We are a group of people.
Our group is called H.A.N.D.S.
We are a non-profit organisation.
This means we do not work to make money.
What invisible difficulties are
Some people have difficulties that you cannot see.
For example:
• pain that does not stop
• feeling very tired
• not hearing well
• difficulty learning
• sadness when we lose someone we love
Other people do not see these difficulties.
So they often do not understand them.
What disability is
Disability is not only something a person has.
Disability is also the barriers around a person.
For example:
• a school that does not help
• a job that is not flexible
• a place that not everyone can get into
We want places to change for people.
Not people to change for places.
What we do
We talk to schools, clubs and companies.
We explain what invisible difficulties are.
We give information and advice.
We make tools that help.
We work with other organisations in Europe.

What the difficult words mean
A group that helps people and does not try to make money.
Something that stops us, or makes it hard to do what we want.
